Many wine chateaus will take visitors and you will also get to sample the goods! Additionally vineyard tours, where people get to see the very source that the wine comes from, are very popular you can book for half a day or a full day. St Emillion and Sauternes are very popular throughout the year.
Bordeaux is full of museums and beautiful architecture. You can take a day tour around the older buildings that have a number of medieval structures; some of these are 1000 years old. There are coasts nearby and therefore lots of beaches to enjoy. The Dune de Pilat is a popular tourist beach that attracts many visitors.
