This means that there are lots of options for tourists, such as hiking and biking when the weather is more temperate. Wet weather isn’t uncommon during the summer, as is generally the case with hot climates. Be aware that in the summer months, the weather in Nice can be sweltering, reaching 40 degrees centigrade. Nice is just as popular during the so called colder months as there is still some warmth and the days are bright.
What to do
Nice has many outdoor events to get involved with, such as the Nice Carnival. This is a mixture of dance, religion, food, art and so on. Nice is also known for being a great location for getting around since it’s in the centre of the Cote d’Azur. This means you can visit the glamorous Monaco, St Tropez, and Cannes etc.
There are also plenty of monuments and museums in Nice to visit with a balance of activities for kids, like go-karting and pool parks making friendly inner city destinations. Like many French cities, the architecture is aged and beautiful to look at.
There are also the stunning beaches – long and wide perfect for walking but also for sunbathing. It’s a suitable destination for children and adults alike. There are often events going on such as beach games and water-sports which are good for grownups and little ones. When the weather becomes too hot, you can return to a café in the shade. Because of the large tourist population, many places in Nice serve tourist food but look out for restaurants that sell special crêpes and sweets that are unique to France.
