The informative guide will point out all the most important landmarks along the way, and you can count how many of Amsterdam’s 400 bridges you pass under!
Museums in Amsterdam
Amsterdam has many excellent museums, some of which are internationally renowned such as the Rijksmuseum, and then there are some that are a little out of the ordinary for most cities, but not Amsterdam! You have museums like the Sex Museum, the Torture Museum, and the Marijuana and Hemp Museum – all three of which are indicative of the liberal values that Amsterdam is so famous for.
The Rijksmuseum showcases many excellent and world famous works of art and one of the most famous on display here is Rembrandt’s The Night Watch. If you’re interested in art you might also like to visit the Van Gogh Museum.
Anne Frank’s House is one of Amsterdam’s popular museum houses. This is where the Jewish girl, Anne Frank lived in hiding with her family, trying not to be detected by the Nazis during the Second World War. You can tour around the house and see where and how they hid for so long.

Prostitution is legal in Amsterdam and as you walk through the district you’ll see many prostitutes displaying themselves in large windows.
Amsterdam is also famous for its coffee shops and the fact that you can buy cannabis in them. Cannabis is not actually legal here but it is tolerated and you’re able to buy it without hassle provided you don’t go over the top.
