Most flights are within India, but there is some international service to this airport. When coming from London, most flights to Ahmedabad have one transfer connection. Jet Airways connects in Bombay and Emirates Airlines goes through Dubai. Qatar Airways also has 1 stop-over in Doha. The total time for the flight to Ahmedabad can range between 11 and 17 hours.

Law Garden
Not just a nice city park, Law Garden is the place to go for handcraft markets too. It can be a busy spot, especially around the market stalls. There are not only crafts, but many food vendors too if you want to try a taste of authentic Indian street food. The park is next to the Law College (hence the name) on Netaji Road, right in the middle of the city.
Kamla Nehru Zoo
Located on the shores of Kankaria Lake, this zoo is well-known for its high number of albino animals in its collection. Animals from around the world are on display and there is a small ticket price for entry. You can ride around the zoo on the miniature train when you are tired of walking.
Mosques and Temples
The rich spiritual culture of Ahmedabad can be seen throughout the city in the many mosques and temples. The Juma Masjid and Jhulta Minara are two of the popular Muslim mosques, and the Hathi Singh Jain temple is another beautiful site.
Gandhi Aashram
Mahatma Gahdhi once lived here and now it is a popular ashram with a crafter's market, paper factory and spinning wheel factory. There are several historic buildings in the compound as well as a museum showcasing Gandhi's life, philosophy and accomplishments. Open year round, from 8:30am until 6:30pm the ashram centre is open to the public without admission cost. It's sometimes referred to as the Sabarmati Ashram because it is on the banks of that river.
Calico Textile Museum
The Calico Textile Museum is a world-class museum of cloth, fabric and textiles. It was founded in 1949 and houses many collections of historical textiles and clothing from around the region. Many items date back to the 17th century and there are more than just textile exhibits. There are statues, carvings, furniture, and temple artwork as well.
When Should You Visit Ahmedabad?
It is going to be hot in Ahmedabad no matter when you go though you can choose a few months of the year that are more agreeable. April and May are definitely the hottest, reaching highs of 40C (104F), which can be uncomfortable for even a die-hard traveller. Instead, plan to visit during December, January or February. Daytime temperatures are around 30C (86F) instead. They are also cooler in July and August but that is the rainy season.
