Situated on a small peninsula jutting into the Mediterranean Sea, Beirut is located half way down Lebanon, and as the country’s largest and capital city it has always been considered the centre of Lebanon.

With its location on the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea, Beirut has plenty of beaches and beachside areas to enjoy. The Beach Clubs are popular, and although some are for members only you can usually gain access by paying a guest pass for a day. The Corniche (the area along the coast) is a popular place for a relaxing walk or there’s a ferris wheel if you fancy doing something different. Cycling, skating and jogging are also popular along here too. At one end is Pigeon Rocks, a popular place for watching the sunset and enjoying a drink from one of the cafés.
