Windsor Tourist Attractions
Canada South Science City
The Canada South Science City is a hands-on science and technology centre that kids love to visit. The displays change regularly, but there are always dinosaur and fossil exhibits, bubble blowing stations, and the Lagoon filled with live frogs, turtles and snakes. There’s free parking at the centre, making it easy to visit and they are open year-round but with limited hours. For most of the year, you can only visit on Fridays and Saturdays, though during the summer, they are open 6 days a week.
Art Gallery of Windsor
The art collection at the Art Gallery of Windsor has more than 4,000 pieces that include paintings, sculptures, textiles and other forms of artwork. The gallery exclusively collects Canadian art and showcases many local artists as well as those more renowned. The gallery is open from 11am until 5pm and there is a small entrance fee. Entry is free on Wednesdays though.
XS Family Fun Centre
If you’re travelling with kids then a visit to the XS Family Fun Centre in Windsor is highly recommended. Laser tag, batting cages, go-karts and more are available and the whole family can get involved. Some of the outdoor activities are closed during the winter months, so plan ahead for that. They are open 7 days a week, but the exact opening hours vary through the week and weekends. Costs also vary depending on your chosen activity.
Willistead Manor
For some quieter times, the Willistead Manor on Niagara Street can offer a peaceful look at history. The home is a 36-room mansion, surrounded by 15 acres of manicured grounds. The Tudor-styled home is nearly 100 years old and open for visitors as long as it’s not being used for weddings or other public events. December is particularly impressive as the home is fully decked out for Christmas and looks very beautiful.
Caesars Windsor
You can't bring the kids to this Windsor attraction, but the casino at Caesars Windsor may appeal to the adults. Located right downtown, there are more than 80 gaming tables and 3,000 slot machines, all open 24-hours a day. Aside from the games, it’s a major venue for shows and night-time entertainment.
