Mexico is a country which counts as part of North America although it lies at the southern most part of the country. Climate

Mexico is a diverse land with lots of varied temperatures – the Tropic of Cancer divides the country into tropical (hot) and temperate (moderate) areas. The coast and the lowlands of the country are hot and humid as are the coastal areas; however in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, the summers are pleasant and the winters a mild – the average temperature here is 18 degrees centigrade. May is the warmest month and January is the coldest and Mexico City has high rainfall, the wettest month being July.

What to do

The most popular cities in Mexico to visit include Cancun Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta.

Most of the towns will offer beautiful beaches so visit these and go scuba diving in the seas – in Cabo San Lucas and Cozumel has stunning places to dive and snorkel. If you like volcanoes, then visit Popocateptl, where there is quite an impressive view at the top.

The Copper Canyon Railway is also incredibly interesting for tourists – the Chihuahua Pacific Raiwat in Mexico is a great place to take a ride and see some of the natural beauty of Mexico – view canyons and peaks on the train.

Mexico is famous for its incredible food which has an amazing spicy edge, based on Mayan and Aztec tradition. Food to try whilst you are visiting includes Tacos, Quesadillas, Enchiladas, Burritos, Tamales, Chilli and so on. The food will also be affordable and better value than in the UK.
