Of particular interest is the historic Arizona Biltmore Hotel. This is in the Camelback East District of Phoenix and was built in 1921. What makes this hotel stand out is its unique list of guests, who have included Fred Astaire, Marilyn Monroe and Bob Hope.

The Arizona Science Center combines science and learning with over 350 fixed exhibits on display, and an IMAX cinema, whilst the Heard Museum is based on Native American cultures and arts. The Wrigley Mansion is both a mansion and a museum and was built by the famous chewing gum manufacturer. Finally the Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park is a popular visitor attraction, concentrating on the pre-Columbian civilisation who lived in this area, called the Hohokam.

Phoenix Mountains Park is one of the city’s popular parks. Situated within the city, this park includes Piestewa Peak which stands at a height of 2,610 feet and gives great views of the city and surrounding area to those who hike to the top.

December and January are the coolest months and though pleasant for walking around during the day, the evenings can get a little cool.
