Boston

Its downtown core is where tourists spend most of their time, seeing a number of historical buildings and enjoying that vibrant cultural life. By following the ‘Freedom Trail’ you’ll get to see all of Boston’s most important landmarks and monuments including the Massachusetts State House and the Benjamin Franklin Statue.

Cape Cod

The Cape Cod region of Massachusetts is another top tourist attraction for this US state, and it too offers a diverse range of attractions all within the boundaries of this peninsula that sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean from south eastern Massachusetts. The Cape Cod National Seashore is just one part of the Cape – this is a protected area where you can experience part of the Massachusetts’ coastline that hasn’t been developed, so there are beaches and dunes along with marshes and swamps to see plus plenty of flora and fauna too.

Cape Cod also offers history as it was here, in Provincetown that the Pilgrim Fathers first landed to establish the New World. The Pilgrim Monument marks the spot of this important moment in history and the town offers an eclectic mix of galleries and stores.

The islands off the coast of Cape Cod also offer their own attractions. These are Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Gosnold.

The Minute Man National Historic Park

If you’re interested in learning more about the history of Massachusetts there are many places across the state where you ca find out more. The Minute Man National Historic Park is just one of these places and it’s popular because of it re-enactments of historical events that both adults and children find interesting.

When Should You Visit Massachusetts?

Massachusetts is popular during the summer when temperatures are warm and humid, and average highs are in the 20’s C (70’s F). Precipitation is fairly evenly spread across the year but during the winter this will fall as snow, usually heavily across the whole of Massachusetts. Winter temperatures are chilly, and with high humidity it usually feels colder than the average highs of 3C (37F) in January.
