Flights to Campo Grande International Airport (airport code: CGR) have either 1 or 2 stops when you are flying from the UK. TAM Linhas Aereas, British Airways and BMI all offer the same route that flies via Sao Paulo for a 17-hour total trip. Most 2-stop flights to Campo Grande take more than 20 hours. TAP Air Portugal stops in Porto and Sao Paulo, and Iberia goes through Madrid and Sao Paulo instead.

Dom Bosco Museum
The Dom Bosco Museum is one of the best museums in Campo Grande and it covers the natural history of the area as well as the native cultures of Brazil. It's also known as the Indian Museum because of its focus on indigenous people. Artefacts from centuries of history are part of their collections, and the museum is part of the Dom Bosco Catholic University.
Parque das Nacoes Indigenas
Parque das Macoes Indigenas is a huge urban park were you can go walking on meandering trails and see the lake, or find a few new restaurants to try. Within the park area are several museums (such as the above mentioned Dom Bosco Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art) and more. There are several other city parks in Campo Grande as well, such as the Aryton Senna Park, Ary Coelho Plaza (with a huge fountain) and the Itanhanga Park that has a playground for the kids too.
The Oshiro Takamari Park is another, and it’s home to the Aboriginal Fair where native vendors sell all kinds of handicrafts and souvenirs.
Local Eco-Tourism
Campo Grande is actually best known as being an entry-point for many other eco-tourism destinations in the area. For example, the Bonito caves aren't too far away, where you can take a tour to see the underground caverns. The deep blue lake there is quite a sight itself. Aquidauana is another place not far away that has a lot of natural beauty and places to see for hikers and backpackers.
The Pantanal Conservation Area is also near Campo Grande, and it’s one of the world's largest wetlands. Many eco-tourists head to Pantanal when they are travelling through Campo Grande. Visiting these marshlands can give you a chance to see the rare capybara, giant river otters, macaws and even the jaguar.
When Should You Visit Campo Grande?
The weather in Campo Grande is similar throughout the year, usually very warm with some rainy months. Most of the year is too wet and hot for comfortable sight-seeing so you should plan your holiday for either June or July. These are both the coolest and driest months of the year. Daytime temperatures of 25C (77F) and the rainfall is minimal. Most other months will hit 30C (85F) during the day.
